Private Vineyard Lots in Argentina
More investors are choosing private vineyards in Mendoza like these at Algodon Wine Estates.
From Bono to de Niro, the list of ricos y famosos buying their own private vineyards in Argentina keeps getting longer, as global appreciation and demand for Argentine wines continue to soar. But you don’t have to be the frontman for rock’s top-grossing act or the world’s greatest living actor to own your own vineyard and bottle your own private label wine in Argentina, says La Nacion’s Pedro Cifuentes.
“A Hectare Is Enough to Be A Winemaker,” is the title of Cifuentes’ article in Mi Bosillo, the personal savings and money management section of Argentina’s La Nacion. “While the world economy remains shaky and the markets give more fear than joy, the number of people considering vineyards as a unique investment alternative keeps growing. The novelty is that you no longer need to be a wine expert or a millionaire to invest in vineyards,” writes Cifuentes.
“Today in Argentina (especially in Mendoza), there are many projects that allow the small and medium-size investor to achieve the dream of making their own wine in a natural setting where, if they desire, they can also build their own home,” says Cifuentes. He says owning a vineyard in Argentina allows investors to combine “savings and pleasure: buying a vineyard allows you to preserve capital in a relatively safe manner while living the dream of being a winemaker.”
