Algodon Wine Estates, formerly known as Viñas del Golf, celebrated its first anniversary since setting up as a world-class entrepreneurial resort, with tens of special guests including local businessmen, investors, sportsmen, friends and journalists.

Located within the first kilometers of the National Route 144, jurisdiction of Cuadro Benegas District, the place is fruit of man's effort in his attempt to gain land from the stone dessert and scrubland of those uncultivated fields. There, an outstanding building structure comes out, sheltering the ever-present links to share time and friendship in long golf games, a glass of good wine or a chat about the importance of investing in San Rafael, especially in this area where developments of huge magnitude are being projected.

To celebrate such a significant occasion, Scott Mathis, Representative of the Investment Group remarked, exclusively for our newspaper: 'I arrived in San Rafael two years ago and fell in love with its natural beauties, the peace and quiet of its vast countryside and the friendship of local people. I believe, from my own experience acquired so far, that the best investment is here'.

The entrepreneur added: ‘Even though I came to Mendoza City, it was San Rafael which captivated me with its climate and its clean and fertile nature. The acquisition of this resort will bring more facilities and improvements such as 9 more holes for the Golf Course, a Polo Field, an extension of the present hotel and the soon sale of lots to build a private neighborhood. The urbanization of these lands by constructing residential houses within a private neighborhood, will undoubtedly contribute to San Rafael's growth. The rest of the land will be planted with top-quality vineyards and a new winery will be built for private homes' owners to produce their own wines'.

During the celebration of the first anniversary of Algodon Wine Estates the guests were delighted with the chefs'cuisine at the Restó of the resort, tasted excellent wines and enjoyed the music of a local duo. To summarize, Scott Mathis said: ‘this new introduction to society has been excellent and will help us be better known within the society of San Rafael'.
