The boutique hotel Algodon Mansion is located in the heart of Buenos Aires’ most elegant residential neighborhood, Recoleta, where you will also find exclusive designer boutiques, nice restaurants, and art galleries.

It’s the first and only Relais & Châteaux hotel in Buenos Aires! No wonder Roger Federer chose to stay here during his exhibition tennis matches against local hero Juan Martín del Potro.

Come with us and check out Roger’s suite number 3!

Algodon Mansion‘s French classical building design has been impeccably restored, inspired by contemporary elegance and sophistication.

As soon as you enter Algodon Mansion hotel – and obviously get welcomed by the attentive concierges – you are impressed by waterfall cascades in the lobby! And the amazement goes on…

Ten classy suites with dark wooden floors, cream-colored walls and Italian marble bathrooms offer a stylish and modern ambiance. The rooms are exceptionally spacious and offer superior amenities and comfort. Many of the larger suites include separate living areas and cozy fireplaces.

Whether it’s a reminiscence to Roger Federer’s recent stay in the suite or a standard feature is beyond us, but the TV was showing tennis legends all the time while we visited the suite.

And if you still were to ask for yet more relaxation – just take to the swimming pool on the mansion’s rooftop or to the spa. Life is rough!

The hotel offers a 24-hours private concierge service and is renowned for its outstanding exclusivity in hospitality. Hence it doesn’t come as a surprise that Swiss tennis world star Roger Federer chose to stay at Algodon (Spanish report by La Nación) while visiting Buenos Aires for the exhibition matches against local hero Juan Martín del Potro.

As per usual on such ‘friendly’ encounters they both won a match and collected a combined $ 4 million dollars for their different charities.

Algodon Mansion’s restaurant serves sophisticated local dishes using fresh farm products from the hotel’s sister property in Mendoza. The wines which accompany the delicious food are from the award-winning Algodon Wine Estate located in San Rafael, Mendoza.

For lunch we had a selection of the traditional “Empanadas”, followed by a braised pork shoulder … delicious!

Many thanks to Rodrigo Braun from Relais & Chateaux’ stellar Patagonia property Eolo and Gregor Beck, general manager Algodon Mansion for showing us around!

Here are some more impressions from our lunch at Algodon Mansion:
