Algodon Wine's OCHO (8) Fincas
Algodon Wines’ OCHO (8) Fincas is a cuvée that has been hand-harvested from several original independent family farms that date as far back as 1946, and which today compose the basis for what is now Algodon Wine Estate’s 325 acres of productive vineyards.
OCHO (8) Fincas is inspired by a heritage of craftsmanship and pays homage to the generations of winemakers that worked the land long before Algodon arrived in San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina. This wine honors the history of our estate, and also acknowledges the fine work and expertise of Algodon’s outstanding winemaker Mauro Nosenzo, and wine team members Jorge Arenas, Marcelo Pelleriti, and many others who have continued the legacy where our predecessors left off.
Algodon Wine Estates is located in the foothills of the Sierra Pintadas, in the southern heart of Mendoza, Argentina’s wine capital. Fed by the purest glacial meltwater from the snowcapped Andes, Algodon’s vineyards produce exceptional fruit on a sandy and clay loam. Our premium quality wines are crafted in limited production from handpicked and selected grapes under the watchful eyes of our esteemed winemakers who combine modern and traditional winemaking techniques.
This blend presents an intense red color with a shade of crimson tones, the nose gives an explosive and complex aroma of red fruit; red bell pepper, cassis and spice. On the palate it is juicy, soft and round. It has great balance and unctuousness.
