I’m happy to share that Algodon Wines were recently awarded 4 Gold Medals at the 11th annual VINUS International Wine & Spirit Contest 2014, held in Mendoza.  Our wines received the following accolades:  2011 Algodon Bonarda, Gold Medal; 2011 Algodon Malbec, Gold Medal; 2010 Algodon Malbec-Bonarda, Gold Medal; and 2011 Algodon Pinot Noir, Gold Medal.  Click here to see the official awards list.  Algodon would like to thank our great wine team for all of their efforts.

We are now focused on gaining significant new markets in the booming wine segments of the U.S. and China, which are the world’s largest consumers of premium-priced wines. 

In regards to China, in November 2014 Algodon Wine Estates and our partners at Château de Messey presented at China's ProWine 2014 in Shanghai, one of the world's leading international trade fairs for wine and spirits. We have also been invited to participate in a 5-city wine tour of China, which we anticipate will transpire next year. 

In our newest strategy for the U.S. market, we are investigating Direct to Consumer (DTC) Wine Sales or Consumer-Direct eCommerce, which would allow us to reach audiences that have not been previously available to us.  DTC wine sales is a booming industry in the U.S. that works best for boutique wineries within the quality wine segment, and DTC consumers favor boutique, limited production and highly acclaimed wines such as Algodon Wines.  So we think this may be an appropriate avenue to explore.

Algodon Wines are currently available in over 200 sales points in Argentina alone, as well as Toronto, Canada, and in select countries in the European Union including Germany, Amsterdam, Denmark and Switzerland, as well as the United Kingdom. As we continue to focus on gaining important new markets in the world’s top wine consuming countries of the U.S. and China, we remain enthusiastic by the prospect of positioning Algodon Group as a top pure play opportunity in the world wine market.  We are excited about the future.
